Snowmore, PLEASE!!!

Just a quick picture update so my friends in far off places know can see what happens when you have 20 inches of snow on top of 26 inches of snow and now I hear we may have more on the way for Monday/Tuesday.

My poor Miata is snowbound until sometime this spring....

At least I am capable of hitting escape velocity, please note we will not have have not seen any plows for any of the storms, our street is about 6 inches deep of packed ice

On the other hand, it looks like the scooter will not see the light of day until sometime in June

This is the gutter in the back of the house. It's become a lovely icy cascade

And lastly, not all is devastation and woe, it's rather quite pretty

Please tell me the shoveled snow on top of the Miata is from you guys digging out the SUV and not some asshole neighbor.....

And gah...I thought our snow plows were bad....maybe you should take up a collection on the block to buy a plow to put on the front of the SUV to clear your own road out, since your township doesn't seem to want to be bothered..... ;)

Yes the snow on top is from us. LOL trust me I would have been all over the person that was so rude as to do that to me. Remember we live in Philly which is notoriously bad about plowing in the 1st place, however, they do prioritize which streets do get plowed, we just happen to be at the bottom of the prioritization list.

All that snow just freaks me out!
How do you get around?

It freaks people up here out too. You also have to put this in perspective, our annual total snow fall is about 23 inches. We just got back to back storms of 26 and 20 inches respectively, add to that the one in Dec that dropped about 18 inches and you have a record breaking winter of snows hitting folks that are used to 4-6 inches at a time not the dumpage we just got, so yeah folks are a bit freaky.

If you have to drive you just take it slow and steady, or in my case, put on the snow boots and walk everywhere, cause there is no parking to be had even if I was driving.

WOW! I am glad one of your cars is free, just incase the street gets plowed.

Ah the joys of city life :)

Flag the miatia on the off chance a plow makes it down your street accidently. I know they won't be there intentionally.

WOW! I love the arrows. That is just, wow.

Ah, and while you speak of Phlly specifically, this also reminds me of another reason I often say Detroit is a great place to be from.

Yup. Drive slow, be safe.

Kyle:

Since I don't post to [livejournal.com profile] photographers all that often, thanks for actually checking out *my* blog to see who I am.

Karen

BTW, if you need a real face, I introduced myself to you at the Amanda Palmer Gig at the TLA end of last year.
