SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Some same-sex marriage supporters are urging people to "call in gay" Wednesday to show how much the country relies on gays and lesbians, but others question whether it's wise to encourage skipping work given the nation's economic distress.

Date: 2008-12-09 09:18 pm (UTC)Now at my job, I can call out whenever I need to and don't need to give a reason, however if call out unexpectedly more than five times in 12 months, no matter what the reason, I can be put on a warning.
If I "called out gay" my boss wouldn't take a moment to reflect on how important queers are to the running of the business. She's just wonder why I was being weirdly confrontational and offensive.
