You are invited to a series of workshops on the underpinnings of Wiccan practice. The Sunday classes will focus on an introduction to specific practices such as Divination, Shamanism and Qabala. Wednesday classes will focus on practical work such as casting and calling a circle and using modalities within castings.

Each workshop session will last approximately 2 hours in length with Sunday sessions going from 10-Noon and Wednesday sessions going from 7-9. About Karen Schlechter
is a 3rd degree initiate within the Assembly of the Sacred Wheel, a Wiccan syncretic tradition that draws inspiration from Astrology, Qabala, the Western Magickal Tradition and the folk religions of Europe. A practitioner of a variety of esoteric disciplines, Karen has been active in Wicca and the local Pagan community for the past 10 years. She is currently a member of Chalice of the Living Stars, which is the eighth coven in the Assembly of the Sacred Wheel. This coven has an emphasis on Seership, Healing, and Creativity. Karen is also a trained Fire Tender for Sweatlodge, and has previously taught at Free Spirit Gathering.

All tied/chained up and nowhere to go. This is about being tied and bound by my own volition, I could escape these bonds, if I really wanted to but I am too weak...to tired...too lazy take your pick.

King of Swords


Judgement calls. This is about the one who is the "decider" (sorry couldn't help myself on that one)It's about authroity and clarity of thought and how the two work together. It's about swift and direct action and not being swayed by emotion or material.

I'm sure that this is about making my own persoanl "tough" decisions and having the guts to stand by them.

Since the new year is right upon us, this seems oddly apropos. It's about beginnings of financial endeavors and at least in my company the begining of the new fiscal year. It's also about the application of creativity or artisty and turning the fruits of that into a commodity.

I've been so busy the past few days I haven't even had time to pull a card. So finally here is one

Instead of shooting oneself in the foot here - we are just trying to take down our ride. Right now I am worried about finances (who isn't) security (again sho isn't). And trying to find the balance between being smart/prudent and the desire to have things that I would really like to have.

I usually see this as the party card. People getting together and enjoying various celebration. I guess with the big Yule celebration this year that may be one of the gatherings this referes to.

The sun is not still and this transiton actually occured at fall equinox, but it still feels right - it is the dark time of the year after all.

It's not about wanting to smack people with a big stick - though I am short tempered today and want to do this.

It's about internal fire, about putting our big boy/girl panties on and getting over ourselves in order to accomplish what lays ahead. We all find inspritation forward momentum and passion in different ways, this is just taking that energy an channeling it in a postive fashion.

I think to quote Robert Heinlein "I think I grok it." "Grok means to understand so thoroughly that the observer becomes a part of the observed—to merge, blend, intermarry, lose identity in group experience. It means almost everything that we mean by religion, philosophy, and science—and it means as little to us (because of our Earthly assumptions) as color means to a blind man."

How better to describe the clarity of understanding?
