Ok folks, I know there are lot of you out there who are contemplating on jumping ship and going to DW, since LJ has been undergoing a serious series of DDoS attacks. I have no such plan in mind, and I kindly thank those who have offered me a DW voucher, but I intend to dig in my heels and renew my account. This is not only a show of support for LJ, but as a matter of free speech, since it appears that the DDoS attacks are politically motivated and are targeting specific blogs which remain critical of specific governments. Please see articles relating to this here and here as well.

And while my ideologies may or not fall in line with the blogs, governments or other entities involved in this cluster, I assert ...je déteste ce que vous écrivez, mais je donnerai ma vie pour que vous puissiez continuer à écrire, which translates to, I detest what you write, but I would give my life to make it possible for you to continue to write. Quote attributed to Voltaire, but possibly originating from Evelyn Beatrice Hall, writing under the pseudonym of Stephen G Tallentyre.
